EUREKA is small city of approximately 27,000 people located on the Pacific Ocean some 280 miles NNE of San Francisco via US101. It and its sister city Arcata are located on Humboldt Bay, and are the operational bases for the timber and fishing industries of Humboldt County. There are private, state, and national redwood groves located north, south, and east of town.
